President's Welcome

Thank you for visiting the FADRA website. My name is Shan McMillon. I am the current President of FADRA, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the association.

Since its founding in 1975, FADRA has been the voice of all auto recyclers throughout the state (plus some members from Southeastern states and Puerto Rico). A handful of business owners came together to make sure their interests were protected in the Florida Legislature, to educate themselves in the newest ideas and technologies, and to improve business and social bonds. FADRA has grown into a thriving membership of yard owners and associated vendors that is one of the strongest state associations in the nation. FADRA is proud to be recognized as a State Affiliate Chapter of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), our Virginia-based national association.

We like to think of FADRA as a family, and many of our members are second- and third-generation recyclers. Our annual convention brings together members to hear nationally known speakers, share ideas and problems over dinner and drinks, and enjoy family time at a comfortable resort. We want to keep that family growing, however; there's always room for new people with their own unique experiences. If you have not already joined FADRA, we ask you to please consider becoming a member of this exciting organization that could enhance your knowledge and professional growth and your company's bottom line.

For very modest annual dues, a FADRA member gets access to a broad network of knowledge and contacts. We meet with legislators each year in Tallahassee and have a team that monitors legislation and regulation year-renowned to make sure you aren't caught off-guard or incur new fees without representation. We have a solid working relationship with NMVTIS, law enforcement, and the DEP. The annual convention is one of the largest in the country, and our tradeshow brings in vendors providing services from all over the United States. We publish for newsletters a year publicizing members and providing up-to-date industry news. We are looking to develop our online presence more actively to publicize our industry to the public. From ARA we have online safety training through ARA University and a rich source of information about what's happening in our industry nationwide. You're not all alone out there; FADRA is here to help you, and your knowledge and participation helps us. Please contact us today to get involved!

Sincerely,
Shan McMillon
